Pre-K

Seymour School District’s Preschool/PreKindergarten Program provides a safe, nurturing, and inclusive environment that values the individuality of every child. In this integrated setting, students with diverse abilities, interests, and learning styles engage in developmentally appropriate, language- and play-based activities that are both teacher- and child-centered. This model supports growth in communication, social interaction, and play skills while fostering acceptance, patience, and understanding among all learners. In addition, the program incorporates Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), a structured, evidence-based approach that uses positive reinforcement and individualized instruction to build communication, social, and behavioral skills, ensuring each child receives targeted support to reach their full potential.

Seymour’s Peer Program offers typically developing children meaningful opportunities to build empathy, leadership, collaboration, and problem-solving skills within an inclusive classroom setting. Students are encouraged to engage in cooperative play, model age-appropriate language and behavior, and actively participate in shared learning experiences. Their involvement plays an essential role in fostering a supportive classroom community, while also enhancing their own social-emotional and cognitive development.
